Five questions to ask before choosing an AI tool

New AI tools appear every week, and it is easy to sign up for many and use none. Before you pay for one, ask yourself these five questions.

• What exact task will it do for me? A clear task is better than a long list of features.
• How long does it take to learn? If it takes days, you may never use it.
• What does it really cost per month, including any extras?
• Can I try it first, and can I stop easily if it does not fit?
• Who do I write to if something goes wrong, and do they reply?

Start small

Pick one repeated task, use one tool for it, and check after a few weeks whether it saved you time. If it did, keep it. If not, drop it and try another. A small tool that you use every day is worth more than a big tool that you never open.
